Profhilo Treatment Often called a 'lunchtime facial treatment' with immediate results, Profhilo is a quick treatment - taking about 15 minutes with no downtime. It is injected just under the skin, using very fine needles, in ten pre-determined points; five injection points on each side of the face to give optimum results. The fine needle means the treatment is relatively painless, feeling like a small scratch, and usually does not require a topical numbing cream prior to treatment. At Bio Aesthetica we only offer the full Profhilo treatment which consists of two sessions, one month apart, this is to ensure maximum results are achieved. If signs of ageing are significant an additional treatment may be recommended four to eight weeks later. We also recommend, after approximately six months, and maintenance treatment to prolong the effect. The effects of Profhilo are subtle but immediate; the skin will look smoother and brighter immediately following your first treatment. As time passes these effects are enhanced and can last up to six months, depending skin type and lifestyle. Does Profhilo have side effects? Profhilo has no long-term side effects. Profhilo, a stabilised hyaluronic acid which naturally occurs in the body, is completely metabolised, i.e. broken down and absorbed over time. Immediately following your treatment you may experience redness, slight bruising, tenderness as well as itching at the injection sites but these were temporary and should resolve within a few hours to a day. Can I continue to have other treatments? Profhilo can be used on its own or in conjunction with other fillers, laser treatments or wrinkle relaxing injections as a complementary, rather than a competitive treatment. Will I need an allergy test before treatment? No allergy test is required prior to your profhilo treatment. The risk of allergic reactions is substantially reduced because Profhilo does not contain any synthetic chemicals which some people might react to Who is suitable for a Profhilo treatment? Profhilo is suitable for people over the age of 30 who are uncomfortable with skin laxity, and may have crepe-like skin or other visible signs of ageing such as fine lines or wrinkles.
